Colorful Penguin Painting Craft

I just love this craft, its so vibrant and colorful. Brightens up the winter blues!
I first had the children paint a plain piece of white painting paper. I pre cut all the penguin parts(Construction Paper) and had the kids glue onto the painted paper, the hat and mittens were cut out of scrapbooking paper and then they painted the snowflakes on. I plan on framing Mason's.

The Snowy Day

The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats is a simple tale of a young boy's delight in the first snowfall of the season.

The first activity we did was an Egg Carton Snowman

We made Snowflakes

Links to snowflake patterns are Marcel's Kid Crafts,First Palette
and Your Special Tee

And of course the Scrap Snowman

And last and most fun was the Sparkly Snow Playdoh

Snowman Magnet

How to make:

1. Paint 5 jumbo craft sticks mostly white and the ends black.
2. Paint 2 regular craft sticks black.
3. Glue the white and black sticks onto a piece of black foam paper and then glue the two black sticks where the black and white meet to make the hat.
4. Glue two googly eyes on.
5. Cut a carrot shape out of orange foam and glue on for the nose.
6. Glue tiny black pom poms on for the mouth.
7. Add a magnet on the back.
