Jules the Lighthouse Dog

Today we read "Jules the Lighthouse Dog" by P.T. Custard. Jules is a dog with simply nothing to do,he lives in a lighthouse but dreams of being some place else. Join Jules as he discovers that the excitement he was looking for was right in front of him all the time.

After reading the book the children colored a picture of a lighthouse.

Then we made Lighthouses

Supplies needed:
18 oz Red solo cup
10 oz Clear cup
White Tape
Battery operated tea lite
Tacky glue
Black foam (2small rectangle shapes for windows,1 larger rectangle shape for door, and 1 circle that fits on top of clear cup)

  1. This caught my eye cuz I live in a light house keeper's house in Washington state, and thought these were a great project for a party! My daughter's name is julz so I am SO going to order this book! Thanks for the connection to both these things! What you are doing with kids is valuable! Enjoy it!

    1. Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you stumbled across this book and craft. I'm sure your daughter is going to love making the lighthouse, my son still has his in his room on his dresser.Buy extra battery operated tea lights, you will need them.
